Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a school or university lab (IBDP/IGCSE/ICSE preferred).

Roles and Responsibility:

 

  1. Laboratory Support:
  • Prepare, set up, and dismantle apparatus and materials required for practical experiments as per teacher instructions and curriculum needs (e.g., IB Internal Assessments, Cambridge practical exams).

  • Assist during laboratory sessions with demonstrations, technical support, and guidance to students (when required).

 

  1. Inventory and Resource Management:
  • Maintain and update inventory of lab equipment, chemicals, models, glassware, and other resources.

  • Order, receive, label, and store chemicals and materials, ensuring stock levels are adequate for planned lessons.

 

  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including safe storage and disposal of chemicals and biological specimens.

  • Conduct regular maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments.

  • Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and first aid kits for the lab.

 

  1. Recordkeeping and Documentation:
  • Keep accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and chemical logs.

  • Maintain a laboratory logbook for each science subject as per curriculum requirements (especially IBDP and Cambridge documentation standards).

 

  1. Exam and Assessment Support:
  • Assist in practical examinations for IGCSE, ICSE, and IBDP, including preparation and setup of examination experiments and resources.

  • Ensure confidentiality and security of exam-related materials.

 

  1. Collaboration and Training:
  • Collaborate with science faculty to ensure alignment of lab resources with lesson plans and assessment schedules.

  • Attend workshops and training related to curriculum-specific lab practices and health and safety regulations.

 

  1. Lab Environment and Maintenance:
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and orderliness of all labs.

  • Supervise cleaning staff (if applicable) and ensure proper cleaning protocols are followed after each session.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Strong understanding of international and national science curriculum frameworks.

  • Knowledge of lab safety protocols and chemical handling.

  • Proficiency in maintaining digital records and reports.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to support teachers and students in a diverse learning environment.
