As part of Knowledgeum Academy's educational enrichment programme, the DP I learners had the unique opportunity to visit the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Friday, January 10, 2025. The visit took place at the U R Rao Satellite Centre and was designed to provide learners with firsthand exposure to space technology and satellite development. This excursion aligned seamlessly with the Academy's commitment to fostering innovative learning experiences and offering practical insights into scientific concepts.
The visit was guided by Ms. Umavathi, a seasoned expert with 32 years of experience at ISRO. Learners were granted special access to areas where satellites are manufactured, allowing them a rare glimpse into the intricate processes of satellite creation. This exclusive access was a significant highlight of the trip, offering an unparalleled learning experience.
During the interactive session, learners engaged in a Q&A with Ms. Umavathi, who shared detailed insights into satellite technology and operations. Her extensive knowledge and experience enriched the learners’ understanding of space technology and its applications. The learners exhibited keen interest, asking inquisitive questions and actively participating in discussions, which underscored their enthusiasm for the subject.
The visit provided valuable knowledge about satellite functionality, the practical applications of space technology, and the real-world implementation of scientific concepts. The field visit successfully achieved its educational objectives, blending theoretical learning with hands-on exposure, and left a lasting impression on the learners. This experience not only deepened their understanding of space technology but also inspired them to explore new horizons in scientific learning.
