Knowledgeum Academy successfully conducted its New Learner Orientation for the incoming DP1 batch from 14th to 31st July 2025, welcoming learners, parents, and educators into its vibrant learning community. The orientation aimed to ease the transition of new learners, introduce them to the IB curriculum and KA’s core values, and build meaningful connections among learners, educators, and families.
The day commenced with a warm welcome, registrations, and a cultural showcase featuring musical performances by DP2 learners, followed by an inspiring address by Mr. Kalai Rajan, Head of School. Day 1 included engaging ice-breaker activities such as “Who Am I?”, a brand crossword, and a campus scavenger hunt, all designed to build familiarity and team spirit. Day 2 focused on support systems, school policies, and mental well-being. Highlights included an IB Learner Profile session by Ms. Latha Balaji, a well-being workshop by Ms. Priyanka, and a learner-led panel discussion where DP2 learners shared their experiences. The day concluded with interactive sports activities led by Mr. Basavaraj.
On Day 3, learners enjoyed an energetic Sports Day at the DHI Sports Arena, engaging in team games like handball, football, basketball, and badminton—fostering physical fitness, collaboration, and sportsmanship. Day 4 was dedicated to academic immersion, with 40-minute subject-wise sessions introducing learners to IB methodologies, curriculum structures, and global relevance. Sessions were facilitated by the academic faculty across sciences, humanities, mathematics, arts, and languages, helping learners understand academic expectations and prepare mentally for the journey ahead.
The final day featured a comprehensive Parents’ Orientation. Mr. Kalai Rajan presented KA’s policies and vision, while Mr. Mohan provided hands-on training on the ERP platform. Ms. Priyanka led a parenting workshop titled “Reframing Paradigms,” focusing on adolescent development and parental involvement. The event also featured a Talent Showcase by the new DP1 learners, displaying their creativity through dance, music, and stand-up comedy. The presence of the Academy’s founders, their interaction with parents and learners, and a group photo session followed by lunch concluded the event on a high note. Overall, the orientation was an enriching experience that successfully aligned new learners and their families with the school’s ethos, setting the tone for a year of learning, growth, and collaboration.
